How To Use Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Most side effects do not need medical attention and dissolve as the body responds to the drug. Consult your doctor if they continue or if you are concerned about them

The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, high blood pressure, and changes in white blood cells. You can get more infection than normal, as the medicine suppresses the immune system. There is a long list of possible side effects of this medicine . You should ask your doctor about them and what symptoms to check for, because some of them might be serious and require immediate medical attention.  


Bacterial and fungal infections, Skin cancer, Anaemia, Bruising, Disoriented and confused, Difficulty to sleep (Insomnia), Dizziness, Headache, High or Low blood pressure, Tremor

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Safe)

It is safe to consume alcohol with Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s as there is no known drug interaction.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is evidence of human foetal risk. It is contraindicated unless there is no alternative treatment to prevent rejection.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

There is no information regarding the presence of Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s in human breast milk. Therefore, Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s is contraindicated to use during lactation due to possible adverse effects.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s has moderate influence on the ability to drive as it may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, nausea or tiredness.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

In patients with severe chronic renal impairment, Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s should be used with caution as certain dose should be avoided and titrated. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment of Cellcept 500mg Tablet 50s is not necessary in patients with liver disease.

Quick Tips

  • Take Cellcept 500mg Capsule with meals to avoid stomach discomfort.
  • Cellcept 500mg Capsule should be taken according to the recommended dosage and duration.
  • Cellcept 500mg Capsule takes between 6 to 12 weeks to take effect.
  • Avoid contact with people who have an infection. Consult your doctor immediately if you develop a sore throat, a high fever, or any other symptoms of infection.
  • Use sunscreen and protective clothing when exposed to the sun as your skin will become more sensitive.
  • Regular blood tests will be conducted to monitor blood cell levels in your blood.
  • Notify your doctor if you experience unexplained bruising or bleeding, sore throat, ulcers in the mouth, or fever.
