Gemeprost

Cervagem is generally used for induction of labour in cases:

  1. Intrauterine fetal death
  2. Poor progress

Cervagem is made from the following ingredient:-

  1. Gemeprost (1mg) 

The outcome resulted from taking Cervagem are subjected to the intention of using it and the appropriate dosage of the medication consumed. It is advisable to take this medication with meal or immediately after eating. The drug should be strictly taken as per prescribed dosage by the doctor.

How to use Cervagem?
Pessary is inserted intravaginally.  Consume according to the dose prescribed by your doctor.

  • The dosage should be taken as advised by the doctor. Keep enough gap between two dosages.
  • The duration of time for this drug to give an effect is based on the intended use and dosage of medicine consumed. If there is no relief from the symptoms, please talk to a doctor for an alternative solution.

2. Am I allowed to drink alcohol after taking Cervagem?

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended with Cervagem. The resulting interaction between this medication with alcohol may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness and also it might raise the risk of side effects occurrence. In any case, do not consume more than 90 mL a day.


3. Does Cervagem have an addictive property?

4. What should I do if I mistakenly took an expired dose of Cervagem?

Consuming an expired dose of Cervagem by accident might not be harmful but do consult your physician for advice just to be safe in this matter.
