How To Use Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before and after using the pessary. Remove pessary from wrapper just before use as they can soften in hot weather. Gently insert the pessary into its applicator if it is not already inserted. The pessary may also be inserted without an applicator using your fingers. Lie on your back with knees bent. Gently insert the plastic applicator containing the pessary as deeply and comfortably into the vagina as possible. Gently press down to release the plunger of the applicator until it stops. Remove applicator from vagina. It is recommended that you use this medication at night before you go to bed as a lying position reduces leakage of the product which may occur while sitting or standing. The additional use of a sanitary pad can prevent soiling of your clothing and bedding.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Apart from the list of Cyclogest uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

Abdominal distension (swelling in the abdomen)
abdominal pain
constipation
Sleepiness
Tiredness
Hot flush
Breast pain
Headache
Dizziness
mood changes
Itching at the application site
feeling cold or body temperature change

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. These symptoms become more prominent as when one is undergoing a long term therapy with this medication.

Precautionary Steps of Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Cyclogest. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-

Allergy to Cyclogest or any of its components
It is not recommended for children & Neonates. Please keep Cyclogest out of reach from them.
Hypersensitivity
unusual vaginal bleeding that has not been evaluated by the doctor
known or suspected tumour that is hormone sensitive
porphyria disorders
blood clots in the legs, lungs, eyes or elsewhere in the body
severe liver problems
miscarriage with tissue remaining inside or outside the womb

Cyclogest Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Cyclogest varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s because it may worsen the side effects such as headache, dizziness, and nausea.

Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)

Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s may be safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have not shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor for more details.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s is unsafe to use during lactation as it is excreted in human milk.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s may cause some degree of fluid retention. Careful observation on patients with renal dysfunction. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Cyclogest 400mg Pessary 15s should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. It is contraindicated for patients with severe hepatic impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Quick Tips

Each applicator should only be used once to insert Cyclogest 400mg Pessary into the affected area before being discarded.
Avoid the use of tampons or other menstrual items for at least 6 hours before and 6 hours after using Cyclogest 400mg Pessary.
During treatment with Cyclogest 400mg Pessary, you may notice brownish or white discharge, which can cause irritation, discomfort, or swelling in the vaginal area. It's not unusual, but if it troubles you, seek medical advice.
