Rheumatic Pain

Overview

Rheumatic pain is a very commonly seen symptom however, it is crucial to differentiate rheumatic pain with arthritis. Rheumatic pains are commonly due to some underlying rheumatological conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis. Usually, rheumatic pain causes pain and stiffness of the joints and worsens over time. Rheumatic pain also occurs in any joints however the most common joints are hands, wrist, feet and it will occur symmetrically on both sides. The most important symptom is prolonged morning stiffness of the joints for more than 60 minutes. This rheumatic pain can eventually affect the quality of life of the person and their daily activity can be disturbed. That is why a prompt visit to the doctor is important because this will give way to start early treatment. This is because identifying and initiation of treatment at the early stage will make a lot of difference in the progress of the disease.
