Overview

Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration is also known as neovascular or exudative type of macular degeneration where new abnormal blood vessels grow and leaks below the center part of the retina. It can cause irreversible vision loss.

Hazy vision, Reduced central vision, Decreased colour intensity in vision, Blurring of vision, Vision loss

Age more than 50 years, Family history, Smoking, High blood pressure, Diet, Alcohol, Obesity, Heart disease, Previous eye operations such as cataract operation

Ophthalmoscopy examination, Visual field test, Colour blindness test, Optical coherence tomography, Fluorescein angiography

Treatment and Prevention
