Acustop Cataplasma is usually used for relieving pain and swelling but also can be used for other functions as well such as: 
  1. Arthritis deformans
  2. Tendinitis
  3. Peritendinitis
  4. Arthritis deformans
  5. Sore muscle
  6. Pain resulted from trauma

This list may not be complete and perhaps there are other uses for Acustop Cataplasma. Do not consume this medication although others with the similar symptoms are taking it. Please get a doctor’s advice before taking this medication.

Acustop Cataplasma contains:
  • Flurbirpofen 

The effects of Acustop Cataplasma depends on the purpose of usage and the dose of the medication used. If the symptoms does not subside, please talk to a doctor immediately to find another alternative solution.

You are advised to stick the medication sheet to the affected area only. This medication is suppose to be used only according to the dosage given by the doctor.

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is not advisable to drink alcohol with Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster because the alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding caused by Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster.

Pregnancy Warning (C)
There is an increased risk of miscarriage, cardiac malformation, and gastroschisis following usage of prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor during early pregnancy. Animal studies have demonstrated that there is an adverse risk to the fetus and there are inadequate human studies, though potential benefits may allow the usage of Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster in pregnant women. Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster should be avoided during the first and second trimester of pregnancy unless it is deemed necessary, with the lowest dose possible and the shortest duration of treatment. It is contraindicated during the third trimester.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster is excreted in human breast milk in a very small amount thus it is not recommended to be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Warning (Safe)
Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster may cause a dose-dependent reduction in the formation of prostaglandin and this will precipitate renal failure. The risk of renal failure is increased in patients with underlying impaired renal function and thus, their renal function should be monitored closely.

Liver Warning (Limited information)
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster may cause elevation of liver function test. In those with hepatic impairment, dose adjustment may be needed as Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster is extensively metabolised by the liver.

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Besides these functions and uses of Acustop Cataplasma, there are certain side effects that are related to this medication. Please refer to the list below:
  1. Redness
  2. Itchiness
  3. Skin eruption
  4. Fever
  5. Photosensitivity 

Although some of these symptoms usually happen, there are a few symptoms that rarely happen. If you experience any of these symptoms (either mentioned or not), please talk a doctor immediately. You also have to refer to a doctor if you experience blurring of vision or skin rashes. The above list may be incomplete and please also mention if you experience other symptoms than mentioned above. 1. I forgot to use Acustop Cataplasma on a specific day. What should I do?
If you forgot to use one dose of your medication, please use it as soon as you realize it. But if the time to use the next dose is near then just ignore the dose that you forgot. In such situation, avoid using the dose twice from what is advised.

2. I used over the Acustop Cataplasma medication from the recommended quantities. What steps should I take?
If you think you used Acustop Cataplasma more than the quantity advised, please refer to your doctor immediately. Usage of the medication more from the dosage given might bring unwanted side effects.

Acustop Cataplasma 40mg Plaster inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin by decreasing cyclooxygenase activity which then causes a reduction in prostaglandin levels. It is also a strong inhibitor of platelet aggregation.
