Introduction of Atacand 16mg Tablet

Atacand 16mg Tablet is a drug that may be used alone or in conjunction with other drugs. It may be taken throughout the day or at night, with or without meals. To obtain the best benefit, try to take it at the same time every day. Even if you are feeling good, it is critical to continue taking it on a regular basis. Your illness may worsen if you stop using this medication. This is a commonly prescribed medication that is believed to be safe for long-term usage. Most individuals handle this medication well, and it has minimal negative effects. Some individuals have reported experiencing dizziness after taking the first dosage. This might be linked to a headache. If these side effects worry you or do not go away, contact your doctor. With consistent administration of this drug, no weight gain has been seen. If you have any kidney or liver issues, tell your doctor before taking this prescription. Before using it, pregnant or nursing moms should see their doctor. While you're taking this prescription, your doctor may check your kidney function, blood pressure, and potassium levels in your blood at regular intervals.

How To Use Atacand 16mg Tablet

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Precautions

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Atacand Plus. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Allergy to Atacand Plus or any of its components
  • Liver Disease
  • Renal disease
  • Diabetes mellitus 
  • Pregnancy 
  • Not recommended for children & neonates and keep it out of reach from them.
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Breastfeeding

Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.

Atacand Plus Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Atacand Plus varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • NSAID
  • Cholestyramine
  • Digitalis
  • Lithium
  • Carbenoxolone
  • Amphotericin
  • Laxatives 
  • Vitamin K  

This is an incomprehensive list of drug-to-drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Atacand Plus function. Do inform your doctor about all your current medications prior to consuming this drug. 

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • Alcohol might affect your liver if it is taken with this medication
  • Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication
  • Do not discontinue the prescribed course

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is not advised to take alcohol while taking this medication as alcohol can accentuate the blood-pressure-lowering effects of Atacand 16mg Tablet. This may cause the exacerbation of side effects while taking this medication such as dizziness.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Administration of this medication during first trimester of pregnancy is not recommended and is contraindicated in the second and third trimester as there is this medication that can induce fetotoxicity and neonatal toxicity. However, this medication may be taken by pregnant mothers with proper monitoring if only clearly indicated and the benefit clearly outweighs the risk.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
No clear evidence of Atacand 16mg Tablet safety in breastfeeding is available. As there are alternatives available with a clear safety profile in breastfeeding, usage of this medication during breastfeeding is not recommended.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
This medication may affect the ability to drive and operating machines as it may impair patients' concentrations due to its side effects such as dizziness and headache. Therefore, only drive if you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Patients with renal impairment on this medication should be frequently monitored for serum potassium and creatinine levels. Dose titration is recommended for patient with severe renal impairment.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)
No dose adjustment needed in a patient with liver impairment taking Atacand 16mg Tablet. Atacand 16mg Tablet is safe in a patient with liver impairment.

1. What should I do when I missed a dose of Atacand Plus?

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  think I have accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Atacand Plus. Do I need to see a doctor?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Atacand Plus, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. What should I do if I mistakenly took an expired dose of Atacand Plus?

Consuming an expired dose of Atacand Plus by accident might not be harmful but do consult your physician for advice just to be safe in this matter. 

4. Is it alright to use nutritional supplements such as Zincovit, D-rise 60k along with 
Atacand Plus?

Yes, Atacand Plus can be taken with supplements. But, it is advisable for you to inform your physician about all the current medications as well supplements that you are currently taking before using this medicine.

5. Do I have to gradually reduce the dosage of Atacand Plus or can it be stopped abruptly? 
There are some drugs that cannot be stopped immediately as it can have some withdrawal symptoms. Consult with your doctor regarding the usage of the medication as well as withdrawal symptoms, if any.


6. In a day, how many times should I take Atacand Plus?

The dosage and frequency of Atacand Plus is based on your condition. Use the drug as instructed by your doctor. You can also follow the instruction that has been printed on the product insert.

Side Effects

DoctorOnCall reserves the right to reject the request for return and/ or exchange if not notified by the Customer within one (1) day of receiving the product.
  4. The Customer will be contacted by DoctorOnCall within one (1) day of request for return and/ or exchange to inform the Customer of the return and/ or exchange process.
  5. Upon approval of the Return and/ or Exchange request, the Customer is to deliver the affected Product back to the address of the vendor as stated on the parcel received
  6. The affected Products MUST be returned in its new, unused, original condition, with quantity and packaging was delivered to Customer.
  7. For rehab products, wheelchairs, electronic products, and medical devices, all products must be returned in its original packaging with cables, accessories, and documentations including manuals and warranty card intact.
  8. Failure to return the Product as described in clause 6 and 7 will result in a cancellation of the return and/ or exchange request, and any fees incurred in delivering the package back to the Customer will be borne by the Customer
  9. The return of a Product by a Customer does not automatically warrant for an exchange or refund. DoctorOnCall will inspect the returned Products upon receipt of the same. If the conditions in clause No. 6 and 7 of this Return and/ or Exchange Policy have been fulfilled, refunds/ exchanges will be made to the Customer, and the Customer will be reimbursed by DoctorOnCall for any courier charges incurred in returning of the Products. A courier payment slip is to be furnished to DoctorOnCall for the purpose of reimbursement.
  10. All replacements or exchange of Products shall be effected subject to stock availability. If a Product which was ordered and invoiced is not included in the delivery, DoctorOnCall shall either refund the Customer the value of that Product, or replace the ordered Product.
  11. If any Product which was not included in the Customer's Order is delivered to the Customer, DoctorOnCall shall collect the Product from the Customer. If a Customer is charged more than the value of a Product as displayed on the site when the Customer makes its Order, DoctorOnCall shall refund to the Customer the difference.
  12. All refunds will be made via the same mode of payment within 2 months. Customer's receipt of the refund will depend on the period of time the selected financial institution takes to finalise the refund. DoctorOnCall shall not be liable with respect to any loss, damage, cost or expense that the Customer or any person may incur as a result of any delay in the financial institution processing of the said refund.
