How To Use Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Apart from the list of Bacampicillin uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-
Urticaria
Fever
Joint pains
Rashes
Angioedema
Serum sickness-like reactions
Haemolytic anaemia
Interstitial nephritis
neutropenia
Thrombocytopenia
Convulsions
Diarrhoea
antibiotic-associated colitis
Nausea
vomiting
While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. Please consult a doctor especially before taking Bacampicillin. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
Allergy to Bacampicillin or any of its components
It is not recommended for children & Neonates. Please keep it out of reach from them
Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins or penicillamine
Infectious mononucleosis
lymphatic leukaemia
Hyperuricaemia
renal impairment
GI disorders
Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.
Bacampicillin Drug Interactions
Drug to drug interaction reaction of Bacampicillin varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
Oestrogen-containing oral contraceptives
Allopurinol
Aminoglycosides
Disulfiram
Methotrexate
probenecid
This is an incomprehensive list of drug-to-drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Bacampicillin function. Do inform your doctor about all your current medications prior to consuming this drug.
Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
Avoid this medicine for a longer use
Alcohol might affect your liver if it is taken with this medication
Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication
Do not discontinue the prescribed course
Alcohol Warning (Safe)
It is safe to consume Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s with alcohol as no data suggest or warn of any adverse reaction between these two substances.
Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)
Animal studies have failed to show any adverse effects on the fetal development while human pregnancy data is inadequate to conclude the safety profile of Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s is found in breastmilk and although it is not known whether it affects the infant, it is recommended that the patient uses other antibiotic alternatives that has proven safety profile.
Driving Warning (Generally Safe)
Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s can be used before driving as no reported adverse effects mentioned to affect the ability to drive or concentrate.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Since most beta-lactams antibiotics are excreted by the kidney, it is advisable to use Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s with caution in people with renal impairment. Dose adjustment is also advisable according to the severity of the renal impairment.
Liver Warning (Limited Data)
Bacamcillin 400mg Tablet 10s is not known to affect patient with hepatic impairment. It is therefore safe to use without any dosage adjustment.
