Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Many side effects do not need immediate medical attention and resolve as the body responds to the medicine. Tell the doctor if they continue or if you are concerned about them.

Itching, skin redness, dry skin, skin burn, and skin peeling are typical side effects at the application site. Most of these are mild and normally heal over time. See the doctor if any side effects occur for a prolonged period of time.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is unsafe to apply alcohol with Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g. Using Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g with alcohol may have additive irritant effects. You may experience skin irritation, stinging and burning sensation and sunburn.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown negative effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Safe If Prescribed)

Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g is probably safe to use during lactation, however, avoid application to the chest to prevent contact exposure of the infant. No human data suggests that Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Safe If Prescribed)

Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g can be used in patients with kidney disease since its absorption is minimal.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Deriva MS Aqueous Gel 15g should be used with caution in patients with liver disease because it was excreted via bile. Dose adjustment may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Quick Tips

Your doctor recommended Dalacin C 300mg Capsule to treat your infection and relieve your symptoms.
Do not miss any doses and complete the full cycle of medication, even though you feel better. Stopping earlier will make the infection come back and more difficult to control.
Take it with food to prevent stomach discomfort.
Diarrhea may arise as a side effect, but it should stop when the course is complete. Tell the doctor if it continues or if you have blood on your stools.
Tell the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before beginning the therapy for this antibiotic.
