Side Effects

Although side effects are not prevalent, there are a few serious side effects. The most common are nausea, loss of appetite, and high risk of bleeding. It can also increase your risk of contracting certain cancers. To reduce your risk of skin cancer, limit your exposure to the sun and use a sunscreen cream. There is a long list of possible side effects, which you should consult your doctor about. Some can be serious and require immediate medical attention.

Imuran 50mg Tablet 25s (strip) is unsafe to use during pregnancy. Human and animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus such as low birth weight, premature birth and spontaneous abortion. There is also evidence of haematological disorder in neonates whose mother took Imuran 50mg Tablet 25s (strip).

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Imuran 50mg Tablet 25s (strip) metabolites such as 6-Mercaptopurine is found in colostrum and breast milk in women receiving the treatment. Thus, Imuran 50mg Tablet 25s (strip) should be avoided in lactating women.

Driving Warning (Limited Data)

Imuran 50mg Tablet 25s (strip)'s influence on ability to drive is unknown. Nevertheless, do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)
