Introduction of Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s

You may take the Jakavi 5mg tablet with or without food. Also, in order to get the most effects it is to be taken at the same time daily. Your doctor can determine what dosage is required and how much you need to take. This depends on what you are being treated with and can vary from time to time. You must take it exactly as advised by the doctor. It may be risky to take it in the wrong way or taking too many.

Take this drug at the dosage regimen prescribed by your doctor. Swallow as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the tablet. Fycompa 2mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, but it is best taken at a fixed time.

Tell the doctor if you have liver or renal issues when administering it or if you are using other antibiotics to cure illnesses. This medicine will interact by several different drugs, please let your doctor know all the medications you are using. During pregnancy or during breastfeeding, this medicine is not suggested. During treatment, use effective contraceptives between both men and women.

How To Use Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Few common side effects of this medication include headache, dizziness, low platelet count. This medicine can decrease the amount of blood cells in your blood, thereby increasing the susceptibility to infections. To check your blood cells along with heart, liver, kidney and lipid levels, routine blood testing is required


Decreased in red blood cells/white blood cells/platelets, Increased risk of infections, Increased cholesterol and triglycerides level, Difficulty in breathing, Gut disturbances, Liver enzyme dysfunction, Weight gain, Oedema, Muscle spasm, Headache, Dizziness, Insomnia

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s when consumed concomitantly. However, it is not advisable to consume alcohol when receiving anticancer treatment.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but there are no human studies have been conducted. Thus, Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s is contraindicated during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Excretion of Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s has been found in animal milk but it is unknown in human breast milk. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding as the risks cannot be excluded. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Jakavi 5mg Tablet 56s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment is needed for patients with severe and end-stage kidney disease on dialysis. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Quick Tips

  • Take it with or without food, take it in the morning. 
  • It may cause dizziness and headaches. Avoid activities that require focus and concentration until you know how it affects you. 
  • Take a reliable form of contraception while you are taking this medicine. 
  • Your doctor may monitor your blood cells, liver and kidney function, and lipid levels while you take this medicine. 
  • Recognize signs of infection such as fever, sore throat or rash. 
  • Never discontinue medications without doctor's advise.
