Introduction of Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip)

Metgyl 400mg Tablet is better taken after meal. To get the most value, it can be taken every day at the fixed time. The dose you are advised would differ on what you are being treated for and its severity.

If you are allergic to this medicine or have any kidney or liver disorders or any nervous system disorder, talk with your doctor before administering this medication. Your doctor can change the dosage or recommend another medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor before taking this medicine.

How To Use Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip)

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Many side effects require minimal medical assistance and fades as the body responds to the medicine. Speak to the doctor if they continue or if you are particularly worried.

Headache, dryness in the throat, nausea and a mild metallic taste in the mouth are the most frequent side effects of this medication. These are generally mild, so let the doctor know if they affect you or prolongs. To overcome the dryness or metallic taste in the mouth, you should take sugarless candies or lozenges.

Allergic, Dizziness, headache, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, or metallic taste in your mouth, Urine color change, Fungal or bacterial super infection, Unsteadiness, seizures, mental/mood changes (such as confusion), Trouble speaking, Numbness/tingling of limbs, Eye pain, sudden vision changes, Headache, Stiff neck.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip). Taking Metoclopramide with alcohol may cause a disulfiram-like reaction.

Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)

Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) has been used extensively without ill consequences. Animal studies have not shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may outweigh the risk. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)

It is found that Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) is excreted in very little quantities in breast milk and not adequate to cause harmful effects. However, it is advisable to practice caution while taking Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) during breastfeeding.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) may cause side effects such as dizziness, visual or neurological disturbances, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) elimination rate is not affected by kidney disease but effect of accumulation of its metabolites in the body is largely unknown. Please inform your doctor beforehand if you have any underlying kidney disease before using it.

Liver Warning (Limited Data)

Dose adjustment for Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) is required in patients with hepatic impairment as its metabolism is mainly in the liver.

The Metgyl 400mg tablet treats bacterial and parasite-induced infections.
Side effects such as nausea, sore stomach, and a metallic taste in the mouth can be induced.
The high dosage or long-term use raises the risk of side effects such as nerve injury.
Administer the medication according to your doctor's recommendation only.
Do not drink alcohol during treatment with this medication, or for 2-3 days after treatment.
Nausea, vomiting, flushing, and headache may be developed.
If you have liver disease, tell the doctor. There could be a need to change the dosage regimen for chronic liver disease.

What If You Forget To Take

If you miss a dose of Metgyl 400mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Should I be concerned if I notice my urine colour change?

There is nothing to be concerned about as urine discolouration may happen when taking Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip). It is a known side effect.

Can the use of Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) cause a metallic taste ?

It is said that Metgyl 400mg Tablet 10s (strip) can temporarily cause a metallic taste on your tongue when taken. This metallic taste can be reduced by staying hydrated, chewing some gum or mints and even brushing your teeth after meals.
