How To Use Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s

This medicine is for external use only. Always wash your hands before and after applying eye drops. Gently shake the bottle of the eye drop. Tilt your head back and look upwards. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it to avoid contamination. Pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Whilst keeping the affected eye closed, gently press your finger against the corner of the closed eye (the side where the eye meets the nose) and hold for 1 minute. Wipe off any extra liquid. Wait for 5 minutes before administering another drop into that eye (of the same or different medication) to prevent drops from being washed out of the eye. Ensure to replace and tighten the cap straight after use or discard away any medication for single-use containers.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Tremor, Headache , Low white cell counts (Low white cell counts), Hyperlipidemia (high fat in blood vessel), Numbness (Paraesthesia) , Convulsion, Hypertension, Flushing, Nausea and, vomiting, Hirsutism, Muscle cramps, Renal dysfunction, Fatigue

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Safe)

There is no interaction between Alcohol and Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s. Hence, it is safe to consume alcohol with Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is limited human studies that have shown adverse effects on the fetus. However, animal studies have shown evidence of fetal reproductive toxicity. It is permissible to use Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s if the benefits balanced off the risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

It is not safe to take Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s whilst breastfeeding as Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s is found to be excreted in human milk.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s may cause headache, convulsion, fatigue and tremor. These side effects could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. Hence, it is not advisable to drive whilst on Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)

Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s should not be used in patients with abnormal kidney function.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment of Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion 0.4ml x30s may be needed in patients with liver disease as the metabolism the medication is extensively by the liver.
