How To Use Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip)

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is not advisable to consume alcohol while taking Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) as the alcohol might worsen the side effect of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) which is fatigue and drowsy.No known side effects when used along with alcohol consumption.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Animal studies do not demonstrate direct or indirect risk to fetal development, parturition or postnatal development. There are inadequate human studies on the usage of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) in pregnancy thus, it is recommended to avoid using Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) unless it is deemed necessary.Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) may be unsafe to be used during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse reactions on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may outweigh the risk. Please consult your doctor before consuming it.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)

It is not known whether Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) is excreted in human breast milk however, terfenadine is reported to be found in the breast milk of mothers who were on treatment. Thus, it is recommended to avoid Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) during breastfeeding.Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) can pass into breast milk. Hence, caution should be exercised when prescribing Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) to breastfeeding mothers.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) may cause side effects on the neurological system which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)

There is limited data on the usage of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) in patients with renal impairment. It should be used with caution but dose adjustment may be necessary.The use of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Limited Data)

There is limited data on the usage of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) in patients with liver impairment. It should be used with caution but dose adjustment may not necessary.Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) rarely leads to any hepatic impairment unless in the elderly patients. Dose adjustment of Telfast-D Tablet 10s (strip) may be needed.Please consult your doctor.

There are two types of antihistamines. The drowsy and the non drowsy antihistamines. The drowsy antihistamines are Diphenhydramine, Promethazine, Chlorpheniramine. Wherelse the non drowsy antihistamines are Cetirizine, Fexofenadine and the rest. Most people prefer taking the non drowsy antihistamine as it does not disturb their everyday activities.
