Introduction of Tenvir Tablet 30s

Tenvir Tablet is used in combination with other medications. Taking these medications frequently at the right time significantly increases their effectiveness and decreases their risk of being resistant to them. It is important that you do not skip doses and keep taking them until your doctor advises you that it is safe to quit.

Before taking it, inform your doctor if you have any issues with your liver or kidney or bone.  While taking it, you can need daily blood tests to check your blood count, liver function, and kidney function. Since this medication can cause dizziness or sleepiness, do not drive until you know how it affects you. Pregnant or breast-feeding mothers should consult their doctor before using this drug.

How To Use Tenvir Tablet 30s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Many side effects do not need medical attention and disappear as the body responds to the medication. Consult your doctor if they continue or if you are concerned about them

Common side effects of this medication include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, flatulence, difficulty sleeping, headache, and rash. They're generally not dangerous, but tell your doctor if they're bothering you or not going away. It can also increase the risk of bone loss if you take it for a long time. Exercise regularly and take the calcium and vitamin D supplements suggested by your doctor. Some people can put their weight on while taking medicines.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

Rare cases of Osteonecrosis have been reported in patients with advanced HIV disease and long- term antiretroviral therapy. However, it is due to several factors including chronic alcohol consumption. Drug interactions are still inconclusive. Please consult your doctor before using it.There is no known interaction between alcohol and Tenvir Tablet 30s when used concomitantly. However, alcohol consumption can increase the risk of liver damage, further accentuate the side effect of Tenvir Tablet 30s on the liver. Thus, alcohol is not advisable to be used concomitantly with Tenvir Tablet 30s.

Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)

Tenvir Tablet 30s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have not shown adverse effects on the fetus but there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor before using it. Human studies and animal studies do not show reproductive toxicities. Thus, Tenvir Tablet 30s can be used during pregnancy if indicated. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Dolutegravir is excreted in breast milk but there are limited studies regarding its effect on feeding baby. It is also recommended that HIV- positive mothers do not breastfeed their children regardless of circumstances to avoid transmission of HIV. Human studies have shown the excretion of Tenvir Tablet 30s in breastmilk but there are limited data on the effects of Tenvir Tablet 30s in breastfed babies. Thus, Tenvir Tablet 30s is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. In fact, women with chronic HBV infection and HIV infection is not advisable to breastfeed their babies.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Tenvir Tablet 30s may cause side effects of headaches, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Tenvir Tablet 30s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Tenvir Tablet 30s should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tenvir Tablet 30s may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it. Caution use and dose adjustment may be needed in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Tenvir Tablet 30s should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tenvir Tablet 30s may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it. Tenvir Tablet 30s is safe to be used in patients with liver impairment.

  • Tenvir Tablet has been recommended for you in combination with other medicines. 
  • Take it with food, as this improves the absorption of the medication in the body.
  • Tenvir Tablet can cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do something that needs focus before you know how it affects you. 
  • You can also develop infections or other viral infection-related illnesses when taking this medication. 
  • Do not share needles or personal products that may contain blood or body fluids. 
  • Regular blood tests are required to monitor your liver function, the level of the hepatitis B virus and the blood cells in your blood during treatment and for at least six months after stopping this medication.

What If You Forget To Take

If you miss a dose of Tenvir Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
