Introduction of Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip)
The majority of individuals who use this drug don't have any negative side effects. Feeling drowsy, dizzy, or exhausted are the most prevalent ones (fatigue). These are generally minor and fade away as your body adjusts to the medication. The majority of adverse effects are minor and do not need medical treatment. If any of the adverse effects continue or cause you concern, speak with your doctor.
How To Use Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip)
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip). Alcohol intoxication can increase the risk of lactic acidosis particularly in case of fasting, malnutrition or hepatic impairment.There is no known interaction between Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) and alcohol but alcohol is known to alter blood glucose level which may cause complication or uncontrolled blood sugar level in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Pregnancy Warning (Limited Data)
Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) should be safe to use during pregnancy because either animal or human studies have not shown any adverse effects on the fetus, however, uncontrolled hyperglycemia in people with PCOS can increase the risk of congenital abnormalities and intrauterine death. Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicity at a high dose but there are limited data of Vitagliptin use in pregnant women. Thus, Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) is not advisable to be used during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
Limited human studies suggest that Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) does not represent a significant risk to the baby when used during pregnancy. In regards to limited data, please consult your doctor to decide on discontinuation of breastfeeding or Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip).Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) has been shown to be excreted in animal milk but excretion in human milk is unknown. Thus, Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Driving Warning (Generally Safe)
Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.There are no studies of Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) on the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, especially in patients with creatinine clearance less than 60mL/min. Patients with severe kidney disease has high risk to get lactic acidosis. Dose adjustment of Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) and regular check up to monitor renal function may be needed. Please consult your doctor before consumption.Dose adjustment is required in patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) should be used with caution in patients with liver disease due to increased risk of lactic acidosis. Hence liver function test should be done before initiating Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip). Discontinuation of Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) may be needed if there is deterioration of liver function. Please consult your doctor. Galvus Met 50/1000mg Tablet 10s (strip) is not advisable to be used in patients with liver impairment.
