How Anastrozole Works

Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor which prevents the oestradiol precursor to estrone and testosterone thus reducing the oestradiol concentration.

Alcohol Safe

Anastrozole is safe to be consumed with alcohol. No clinical data suggest harmful effect consuming both together.

Pregnancy Not Safe - High Risk

Anastrozole is contraindicated during pregnancy as shown in animal studies where fetal toxicity has been demonstrated.

Lactation Not Advisable

Anastrozole is contraindicated during lactation period as it has serious potential side effects on the breastfed infant.

Driving Not advisable

It is not advisable to take Anastrozole before driving due to potential side effects such as drowsiness and headache which can affect concentration of driving.

Kidney Use With Care

Anastrozole concentration does not increase even in patients with severe renal impairment. Caution however, should be exercised in patients with renal impairment since Anastrozole is excreted through urine.

Liver Use With Care

Anastrozole concentration can be increased in people with hepatic impairment. Dose adjustment and precautionary measures should be taken for people with hepatic impairment.
