Benzbromarone is able to inhibit the renal tubular reabsorption and increase the gut elimination of uric acid, subsequently reduces the blood concentration of uric acid.

Benzbromarone Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

There is no known interaction between Benzbromarone and alcohol when used concomitantly. However, it is not advisable to consume alcohol during the treatment with Benzbromarone as it will further cause liver damage.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but there are limited data on the use of Benzbromarone during pregnancy. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

There are limited data on the use of Benzbromarone during breastfeeding. Thus, caution use has to be practised during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Benzbromarone usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Benzbromarone is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Limited Data

Caution use of Benzbromarone has to be practised in patients with liver impairment as it may cause further liver damage.
