Bimatoprost acts as a prostaglandin analogue which increases the outflow of aqueous humor thus decreasing the intraocular pressure. It also increases the percentage of hair growth

Eye itchiness, Burning sensation, Dry eye, Blurred vision, Increase lacrimation, Hypersensitivity, Rash, Eyelid swelling

Bimatoprost Related Warnings

Alcohol Safe

There is no known interaction or adverse effects known when Bimatoprost and alcohol are consumed together. It is, therefore, safe to be used together.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have been shown to produce reproduction toxicity at higher dose but inadequate data is obtained to conclude a safety profile in pregnant women. Bimatoprost should only be used in pregnancy only when necessary.

Lactation Limited Data

It is not known if Bimatoprost is excreted into human breastmilk. Animal studies have been shown traces of Bimatoprost in the breastmilk. The decision of using Bimatoprost should be consider the benefit and risk involve during lactation.

Driving Not advisable

Bimatoprost is not recommended to be used before driving as the side effects on the eyes can hinder concentration and ability to drive.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Bimatoprost is safe to be used in patients with renal impairment without dosage adjustment according to the manufacturer labelling.

Liver Limited Data

Bimatoprost is safe to be used in hepatic impairment patients according to the manufacturer labelling.
