How Cefalexin Works

Cefalexin is an antibiotic. It works by binding and inhibiting the bacterial peptidoglycan synthesis and stops the formation of bacterial cell wall.

Abdominal discomfort, agranulocytosis, allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, aplastic anaemia, confusion, Diarrhea, dizziness, hallucinations, headache, leucopenia, nausea, nervousness, pruritus, rashes, vomiting

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with cefalexin. Consuming cefalexin with alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Use of cefalexin is acceptable during pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies do not demonstrate adverse effects on the fetus, and there is not adequate studies in pregnant women. This medication should only be used when there is a clear indication of infection. Please consult your doctor before use.

Lactation Safe If Prescribed

Cefalexin is likely to be safe during lactation although it is excreted in breast milk in low concentrations. However, caution shoube be exercised. Please consult your doctor before using it.
