Alcohol Not Advisable

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Isoniazid. Taking Isoniazid with alcohol may cause a reduction in the efficacy of the Isoniazid. It may also increase the risk of developing hepatic damage and peripheral neuropathy.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Isoniazid may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown the use of the Isoniazid may cause adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are limited well-controlled human studies. The benefits from the use of Isoniazid in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

Isoniazid is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Isoniazid is excreted into human breast milk hence should be avoided during lactation.

Driving Generally Safe

Isoniazid usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Isoniazid should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Isoniazid is necessary. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Use With Care

Isoniazid is contraindicated in patients with acute liver disease and with a history of Isoniazid-associated hepatic injury. Frequent monitoring of liver function tests and dose adjustment is necessary. Please consult your doctor.
