How Losartan Works

Losartan is a competitive angiotensin II receptor antagonist in certain tissues such as vascular smooth muscle and adrenal gland by reducing the vasoconstricting effect of angiotensin II. It is less likely to cause side effects of cough and angioedema as it has less effect on the response of bradykinin.

Drowsiness, Renal failure, Headache, Dizziness, Fatigue, Syncope, Constipation, Diarrhea

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Losartan. Consuming Losartan With alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Losartan may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans. It is contraindicated in 2nd and 3rd trimester pregnancy.

Lactation Limited Data

Losartan is most likely safe to be used during lactation. There are limited data suggesting that the medication does not pose a significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor before use.

Driving Generally Safe

There are no studies of Losartan on the effect of ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney High Risk
