Uses of Miconazole Topical

Topical Miconazole is used to treat skin infections caused by fungi, including yeasts. Topical Miconazole is used to relieve: - Infections of the scalp, beard, trunk, feet and hands, and groin; - Diaper rash in infants.

How Miconazole Topical Works

Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal that works by killing both the fungus that causes the infection and any related bacteria that may be present.

Alcohol Safe

As Miconazole Topical is used topically, the risk of interacting with alcohol consumed is negligible.

Pregnancy Limited Data

The safety of Miconazole Topical in human pregnancy is not established. Therefore, Miconazole Topical should only be used for pregnant women after careful risk/benefit assessment by the doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

It is not known whether Miconazole Topical is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Miconazole Topical on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.

Driving Generally Safe

Miconazole Topical is for external application. Therefore, it does not interfere with the ability to drive.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Miconazole Topical is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible. It is, therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with renal impairment.

Liver Safe If Prescribed

Miconazole Topical is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible to cause any effect , therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with liver impairment.
