How Oteracil Works

Oteracil is used as part of combination treatment in stomach malignancy. It blocks the phosphorylation of 5-FU to 5-fluorouridine-5'-monophosphate and possibly reduces the risk of 5-FU induced gastrointestinal complications.

Side Effects of Oteracil

Low white blood cell, red blood cell and platelet count, Loss of appetite, Peripheral neuropathy, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Nausea, Constipation, Lethargy

Pregnancy Limited Data

Oteracil may cause side effects which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. Please avoid driving unless feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Oteracil should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Oteracil may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it. Use of Oteracil is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver Use With Care

Oteracil can be used in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Oteracil is not needed. However, please consult your doctor before using it.
