Rabeprazole is commonly used in the treatment of acidity, gastroesophageal reflux disease acid reflux, heartburn, intestinal ulcers, peptic ulcer disease, and stomach ulcers

How Rabeprazole Works

Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which works by affecting the H+/K+ ATPase which is found on the surface of the gastric parietal cell. Inhibition of those pump will lead to suppression of gastric acid secretion.

Headache, Dizziness, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Asthenia, Flatulence, Rash, Dry mouth, Insomnia, Cough, Pharyngitis, Rhinitis

Alcohol Safe

You may drink alcohol with Rabeprazole but consuming alcohol can worsen your symptoms due to irritation to stomach lining.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Rabeprazole may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown side effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. Only allow taking Rabeprazole if benefits outweigh the risk in pregnant women. Please consult your doctor before consuming.

Lactation Not Advisable

Rabeprazole is shown to be excreted in rat mammary secretion. It is not advisable for women to breastfeed due to lack of human studies.

Driving Generally Safe

Rabeprazole usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Rabeprazole is safe to be used in patients with kidney disease and no dosage adjustment required.
