How Silodosin Works

Silodosin is a selective alpha-1-adrenergic receptor inhibitor which is able to block the receptors located in the prostate, urethra and bladder trigone, leading to smooth muscle relaxation and improve the urine flow

Postural hypotension, Tachycardia, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Dry mouth, Dizziness, Headache, Insomnia, Urinary tract infection, Abnormal ejaculation, Decreased libido, Nasal congestion

Silodosin Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

Alcohol may further lower the blood pressure causing dizziness or feeling of fainting when consumed concomitantly with Silodosin. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol and Silodosin.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Silodosin has no therapeutic indication in women.

Lactation Limited Data

Silodosin has no therapeutic indication in women.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Silodosin may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches or fainting, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Use With Care

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with moderate kidney impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment (Creatinine clearance <30ml/min).

Liver Limited Data

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment.
