How Tofacitinib Works

Tofacitinib is a janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that can reversibly inhibit the janus kinase-signal transducers and activators of transcription pathway which involves in haematopoiesis and immune cell function.

Side Effects of Tofacitinib

Opportunistic infections, Anaemia, Headache, Hypertension, Cough, Abdominal pain, Nausea and vomiting, Diarrhea, Rash, Fever

Tofacitinib Related Warnings

Alcohol Safe

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Tofacitinib when used concomitantly.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but there are limited data and well-controlled human studies on pregnant women. Thus, Tofacitinib is not advisable to be used during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

Animal studies have shown the excretion of Tofacitinib in animal milk but it is unknown in human milk. Thus, Tofacitinib is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Tofacitinib usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with severe kidney impairment.

Liver Use With Care

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with moderate kidney impairment. It is not advisable to be used in patients with severe liver impairment.
