Optavid contains Hypromellose which is a synthetic polymer that forms a film on the ophthalmic surface by producing a transparent, lubricating, and moistening film.

Suitable for:

  • For those with mild dry eye symptoms & discomfort and less frequent symptoms appearing

How To Use Hovid Optavid Eye Drop 10ml

  1. Always wash your hands before and after applying eye drops. 
  2. Tilt your head back and look upwards. 
  3. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it to avoid contamination. 
  4. Pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. 
  5. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Whilst keeping the affected eye closed, gently press your finger against the corner of the closed eye (the side where the eye meets the nose) and hold for 1 minute. 
  6. Wipe off any extra liquid. Wait for 5 minutes before administering another drop into another eye
  7. Ensure to replace and tighten the cap straight after use or discard away any medication for single-use containers.
  8. Apply 2 to 3 drops into each eye. 3 to 4 times daily or as needed.

How To Store Hovid Optavid Eye Drop 10ml

Store at room temperature in a dry place.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
There could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-
  1. Blurry vision
  2. Stinging sensation 
  3. Allergic Reaction

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. Please, consult with a doctor if you are having rashes or blurry visions. Report if you experience any other symptoms as the above list may not be exhaustive. These symptoms become more prominent as when one is undergoing a long term therapy with this medication.



Warning Precautions

  • Caution: Not suitable to be used together with soft contact lens.
  • To avoid contamination of your bottle of eye drops, do not touch the tip of the container to any surface.

About Hovid Optavid Eye Drop 10ml

If you have sensitive eyes or you are working in a place with a dry environment, take these eye drops with you to avoid rubbing your eyes all the time as this may harm your eyes.

Eye drops usually are saline solutions that contain some medications in them to treat many problems of the eye. Sometimes, there are absolutely no medications in the eye drops and they function to moisturize the eyes or to wash out any foreign bodies.

Applying eye drops may help to restore the natural moisture of your eye when your eyes cannot make the lubricant enough on their own. They will promote comfort to your eyes as well as reduce dryness and irritation of the eyes. If you are having an injured eye, artificial tears will encourage the healing process of the eye’s surface, promoting comfort by lessening the feeling of a surface scratch and clearing away any remaining or particles. By keeping the eyes always lubricated, eye drops will prevent your eyes from any further damage. 

Besides that, eye drops also relieve the burning and stinging sensation of the eyes that are related to allergy reactions. During allergy season, applying medicated eye drops correctly on the eyes will decrease the risk of getting any systemic side effects from the medicine that we used.
