This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
It is not advisable to drink alcohol with Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) as the alcohol may cause additive effect of lowering the blood pressure resulting in symptoms such as dizziness or lightheadedness.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
There is evidence of risk to fetus in human studies, but the potential benefits of Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) may warrant the usage despite the risks. It is recommended to change to alternative antihypertensives with established safety profile in pregnancy, unless angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) therapy is indicated in women planning for pregnancy. It has been demonstrated that exposure to ARB during the second and third trimesters may induce fetotoxicity and neonatal toxicity.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
This drug is excreted in the milk of lactating rats but it is unknown whether Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) is excreted in human breast milk. Since there is no data on the usage of Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) during breastfeeding, it is recommended to change to alternative antihypertensives with better safety profile.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) may cause side effects such as dizziness or tiredness, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
It is important to monitor serum potassium and creatinine levels when Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) is used in patients with renal impairments. The usage of this drug is not recommended for patients with severely impaired renal function.
Liver Warning (Limited Data)
It is best to avoid using Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) in patients with severe liver impairment as there is no data available. Dose adjustment is only required for patients with moderate liver impairment and close monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is strongly indicated. Olmetec 20mg Tablet 10s (strip) should not be used in patients with biliary obstruction.

Take Olmetec 20mg Tablet at the same time regularly to help you to remember to take it.
Olmetec 20mg Tablet may cause a rapid decrease in your condition, particularly when you start using this medication. To decrease the risk of feeling dizzy or passing out, if you have been sitting or laying down, rise carefully.
Regular blood tests will be conducted to monitor your urea, creatinine, and potassium levels
May cause dizziness and tiredness. Use Olmetec 20mg Tablet with caution when driving or doing activities that require attention until you know it affects you
Avoid taking Olmetec 20mg Tablet with anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen without first seeing your doctor.
Since Olmetec 20mg Tablet causes ankle or foot edema, raise your legs when sitting to minimise edema. See your doctor if it doesn't improve.
Olmetec 20mg Tablet has the potential to raise potassium levels in the blood. Potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods like bananas and broccoli should be avoided.
Discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a baby or breastfeeding.
