Ozempic belongs to a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Ozempic comes in two doses, 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg. It includes 1 pen and 6 NovoFine Plus needles that are disposable. It is taken exactly as your doctor tells you to, once a week, along with exercise and a healthy diet.
Ozempic comes in a prefilled dosing pen injection. It is injected into via subcutaneously once a week.

This type of medicine is given as an injection under the supervision of a medical professional. It is done under sterile conditions to minimise contamination.
Used pens should be discarded after 56 days, even if there is still medication remaining in them. Mark the date of disposal on your calendar. Check for an expiry date on the package.
How To Store Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen)
Refrigerate (2 to 8 degrees Celsius) before use. Avoid contact with the cooling element. After initial usage: After initial use, the drug may be stored for up to six weeks. Keep below 30° C. or in the refrigerator (2 to 8 degrees C). Do not freeze Ozempic, and if it has been frozen, do not use it. Keep the cap on the pen while it is not in use to shield it from light.
Side Effects
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Limited data exist for the use of Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen) in pregnant women. Therefore, Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen) should not be used during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)
It is generally safe to drive while on Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen). However, patients who have reduced or absent awareness of warning signs of hypoglycemia or frequent episodes of hypoglycemia must take precautions while driving. It is best to avoid since hypoglycemia may impair the ability to concentrate and react while driving.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Patients with mild, moderate or severe renal impairment might not need dose adjustment. However, use of Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen) in patients with end-stage renal disease is not recommended. Discuss with your doctor regarding this managements.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
No dose adjustment is required in patients with liver impairment. Caution should still be exercised when using Ozempic 1.34mg/ml (0.25mg, 0.5mg/dose) Pre-filled Pen 1.5ml x1 (pen) with liver impairment.
