How To Use Heptral 500mg Tablet 20s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Heptral 500mg Tablet is usually well tolerated. However, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

Urinary tract infection.
Confusion
Insomnia
Dizziness
Headache
Abdominal distension
Abdominal pain
Dry mouth
Dry Skin

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. Please refer to your doctor if you experience any other symptoms as the above list may not be exhaustive. These symptoms become more prominent as when one is undergoing a long term therapy with this medication.

Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Dyspepsia, Dry mouth, Gastrointestinal bleeding, Dizziness, Headache, Insomnia, Hot flushes, Muscle Spasm

Drug/Food Interactions

Serotonin syndrome has been reported in patients taking ademetionine and clomipramine.

Warning Precautions

Ademetionine tablets should be removed from the blister packing as soon as possible before use.

Pregnancy Warning and Safety Description of Heptral 500mg Tablet 20s

It is advisable to use ademetionine in the first trimester of pregnancy only if it is absolutely necessary.
Ademetionine should be used while breastfeeding only if the potential benefits outweigh the risk.
