This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Ibuprofen Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Ibuprofen varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • Alcohol
  • Warfarin
  • Aspirin
  • Corticosteroids
This is an incomprehensive list of drug-to-drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Ibuprofen function. Do inform your doctor about all your current medications prior to consuming this drug. 

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • Alcohol might affect your liver if it is taken with this medication

  • Do not discontinue the prescribed course




Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
Consuming alcohol with Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet is best avoided.

Pregnancy Warning (D)
Take with precaution in 1st and 2nd trimester but do not take during 3rd trimester of pregnancy here is a risk of premature closure of the foetal ductus arteriosus with possible persistent pulmonary hypertension.The onset of labour may be delayed and duration of labour increased, with increased bleeding tendency in both mother and child.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
In limited studies, Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet appears in the breast milk in very low concentrations and is unlikely to affect the breast-fed infant adversely.

Driving Warning (Safe)
Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Use of Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Limited information)
Ibuprofen 400mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease as it is metabolised in the liver.

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Apart from the list of Ibuprofen uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  think I have accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Ibuprofen. Do I need to see a doctor?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Ibuprofen, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. Will the consumption of Ibuprofen affect the child that I am bearing?

This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy. You’re advised to consult an obstetrician for detailed information before start consuming this drug. Pregnant women can weigh the pros and cons of the drug with the help of a doctor before it is used.
