How To Use Zyloric 100mg Tablet

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
Precautionary Steps of Zyloric 100mg Tablet

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Zyloric. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Acute gout
  • Heart disease 
  • Liver disease 
  • Allergy to Zyloric or any of its components
  • Hypersensitivity 
  • Lactation 

Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.

 
Zyloric Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Zyloric varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • Alcohol
  • Azathioprine
  • Adenine arabinoside
  • Cyclosporine

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • Alcohol might affect your liver if it is taken with this medication
  • Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication
  • Do not discontinue the prescribed course
Alcohol Warning( Not Advisable )
It is not advisable to take alcohol with Zyloric 100mg Tablet as it would worsen any dizziness, blurred vision, and drowsiness.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Zyloric 100mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning ( Limited Data )
Zyloric 100mg Tablet is excreted in the breast milk, along with its active metabolite oxipurinol. However, no data shows any effect of Zyloric 100mg Tablet and oxipurinol in the breast milk on the baby. Ultimately, it is not recommended as of now.

Driving Warning ( Not Advisable )
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Zyloric 100mg Tablet may cause side effects such as sleepiness, vertigo or loss of balance, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Warning ( Use With Care )
Zyloric 100mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease, especially if used with diuretics. Dose adjustment of Zyloric 100mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning ( Use With Care )
Patients with liver disease should use Zyloric 100mg Tablet with caution. Dose adjustment of Zyloric 100mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. . Dose adjustment of Zyloric 100mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

  1. Nausea 
  2. Skin rashes 
  3. Stomach upsets
  4. Vomiting 
  5. Diarrhoea 
  6. Dizziness
  7. Drowsiness 
  8. Unsteadiness when walking 
  9. Change in bowel habits 
  10. Headache 
  11. Change in taste sensation 
  12. Hair loss 
  13. Acute gout attack 

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. 1. I missed a dose of Zyloric. What should I do?

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Zyloric. What should I do?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Zyloric, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. What should I do if I accidentally took an expired dose of the medication?

Consuming an expired dose of Zyloric by accident might not be harmful but do consult your physician for advice just to be safe in this matter. 



4. Can I take Zyloric with nutrition supplement such as Zincovit, D-rise 60k?

Yes, Zyloric can be taken with supplements. Do inform your doctor if anything happens. 

5. Can Zyloric be stopped immediately or does the dosage have to be reduced gradually and then stopped?

There are some drugs that cannot be stopped immediately as it can have some withdrawal symptoms. It is suggested to tell your doctor regarding the usage of the medicine as well as withdrawal symptoms, if any.


6. How many times in a day should I take Zyloric?

The dosage and frequency of Zyloric is based on your condition. Use the drug as directed by your doctor or follow the instruction printed on the product insert.
