Klacid Hp 7 Tablet (Combi Pack) is a combination pack manufactured by Abbott, containing clarithromycin together with other antibacterial and acid-suppressing medicines arranged for a 7-day course, used for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication therapy. H. pylori is a bacterium that lives in the stomach lining and is a major cause of peptic (stomach and duodenal) ulcers.

The pack works on the “triple therapy” principle used worldwide for H. pylori eradication: an acid-suppressing medicine raises stomach pH and improves antibiotic activity, while the antibiotic components attack the bacteria from different angles, so that using them together for the full course clears the infection far more reliably than any single medicine alone.

Klacid Hp 7 Tablet (Combi Pack) is taken as a complete 7-day course, with the specific tablets in the pack taken at the times of day indicated on the packaging (usually as a morning dose and an evening dose). Use this product before the expiry date stated on the packaging. Do not use the medicine if the expiry date has passed.

• Known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any other component of this combination pack
• Concurrent use with certain medicines that prolong the QT interval or with ergot alkaloids
• Severe liver or kidney impairment (a doctor must review suitability and dosing)
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless specifically directed by your doctor

• Clarithromycin can significantly raise blood levels of certain other medicines processed by the CYP3A4 liver enzyme, including some statins and calcium channel blockers
• Concurrent use with ergot alkaloids can cause serious ergot toxicity and must be avoided
