Should we go for Cov-19 test

I read the news today that there is a positive Cov-19 case in MCMC Cyberjaya. Last week (3rd March) I went for lunch in their building and on 5th - 6th March, the building was closed for sanitation.

I don’t have any symptoms but my wife and daughter have a few:
Wife - 34 years old, cough, sore throat
Daugher - 7 years old, fever (37.6 on 5/3), cough with phlegm, sore throat and lethargic.

On 5/3, I brought my daughter to see a doctor and was diagnosed with fever due to infection. We were given antibiotics, fever and cough meds. Since then fever has subsided but mild cough still remains.

Should we go for Cov-19 test?

Thank you for your question.

First and foremost, I understand your concern regarding this issue of coronavirus since there’s an outbreak of the virus. Since your wife and daughter are suffering from symptoms such as fever, sore throat and cough, you and your family are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories.

They can be tested for COVID-19 in government hospital as they would do it to any high risk individual. Apart from that, we also provide home testing services, accessible through this link: COVID-19 Screening At Home.

You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

After 5.00 pm till 12.00 am, please direct your enquiries to our DoctorOnCall website at this link https://www.doctoroncall.com.my/tanya/.

I hope you would always be in your best health and thank you.
