Greeting. Thank you for your question.

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your complaint of missed period for a month. From your complaints, we believe that your condition may have multifactorial causes. Apart from pregnancy, missed period can be due to:

  • Age- the flow and timing of the menstrual cycle change by time

  • Body weight and diet- being overweight and underweight can affect the menstrual cycle

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)- due to hormonal imbalance, maturation process of the egg is stunted

  • Medication- such as contraceptive pill, medication for depression and seizure

  • Hormonal imbalance due to stress, emotion, too active and packed schedule

Apart from that, prostinor is an emergency contraceptive pills. It should be taken after unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy.

Unless there’s other meaning for OPU, as far as I know, it is an abbreviation for ovum pick-up. It is a procedure done to collect the egg for In Vitro Fertelization in effort for a women to get pregnant. So, I am unclear on why the pharmacy suggest you such procedure.

What I can suggest to you is, you refer this to your nearest medical doctor. As there is possibility for UPT to get false negative result. On top of that, to find the accurate causes of your missed period, additional details need to be explore further. You may also click on this link (DoctorOnCall) to speak with our doctors online. We assure you that our conversations are kept in confidentiality unless additional consultation needed with other medical parties. Thank you.
