Though it is most likely caused by allergic reaction, however, generally, swollen eyes can also be caused by other serious conditions, such as:
- Bacterial infections
- Inflammation
My advice, before you take painkillers, it is best for you to consult a pharmacist or doctor first. And if your symptoms get worse or persist after you take the medicine especially if you experience shortness of breath and itching, you are advised to go to the hospital immediately.
