How To Use Camazol 5mg Tablet

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
Precautionary Steps of Camazol 5mg Tablet

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Carbimazole. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Allergy to Carbimazole or any of its components
  • Liver Disease
  • Obstruction of the windpipe
  • It is not recommended for children & Neonates. Please keep it out of reach from them
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Breastfeeding
  • Pregnancy

Carbimazole Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Carbimazole varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.

Alcohol Warning( Safe )
It is safe to consume alcohol while on Camazol 5mg Tablet.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
There is evidence of fetal risk based on human studies, but potential benefits may necessitate the use of Camazol 5mg Tablet in pregnancy despite the risks. The lowest effective dose should be administered if required. This is often discontinued three to four weeks before term, to reduce the risk to the fetus. Camazol 5mg Tablet can cross the placenta but with adequate dose and thyroid status monitoring, studies have found that neonatal thyroid abnormalities are not shown. Occurrence of congenital malformation is found to be greater in children of mothers with untreated hyperthyroidism as compared to treated.

Breastfeeding Warning ( Limited Data )
Camazol 5mg Tablet is excreted in milk and if treatment is continued during lactation the patient should not continue to breast-feed her baby.

Driving Warning ( Generally Safe )
Camazol 5mg Tablet usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning ( Safe If Prescribed )
There is limited data on the safety profile of Camazol 5mg Tablet on the kidney. It is fairly safe to use this drug in patients with renal impairment. However, kidney disorder might prolong the half-life of Camazol 5mg Tablet.

Liver Warning ( Limited Data )
In patients with underlying mild-moderate hepatic insufficiency, Camazol 5mg Tablet should be used with caution. The treatment must be stopped when the liver function test is found to be abnormal. This is because liver disorder might extend the half-life of Camazol 5mg Tablet.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

1. I missed a dose of Carbimazole. What should I do?

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Carbimazole. What should I do?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Carbimazole, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. Can Carbimazole be used along with alcohol?

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended with Carbimazole. The resulting interaction between this medication with alcohol may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness and also it might raise the risk of side effects occurrence. In any case, do not consume more than 90 mL a day.


4. Is it safe to use Carbimazole during pregnancy?
