Januvia FC tab 50mg is made from the following ingredient:-

  • Sitagliptin phosphate 50mg

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Januvia 50mg Tablet. Alcohol can affect the blood sugar level therefore either hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia can occur. Furthermore, it can affect the pancreas which is the site of insulin production, which in turn worsen the diabetic control.

Pregnancy Warning (B)
Animal studies have shown the toxic effects at high doses on the foetuses. Due to the lack of human data, it is not recommended to use during pregnancy. Thus, please consult your doctor for more details.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
No academic reports explaining the use of Januvia 50mg Tablet during human lactation are available at the moment. Hence it is recommended to not use during breastfeeding.

Driving Warning (Safe)
Januvia 50mg Tablet usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
No dose adjustment is needed for mild renal impairment patients. However, if the glomerular filtration rate is lower than 60 mL/min, dose adjustment may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Limited information)
No dose adjustments needed in mild to moderate liver impairment whereas there are no studies on Januvia 50mg Tablet use in severe liver impairment. However, Januvia 50mg Tablet is primarily eliminated in the kidneys, so it is effects on severe liver impairment are expected to be safe.

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  think I have accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Januvia FC tab 50mg. Do I need to see a doctor?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Januvia FC tab 50mg, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. Am I allowed to drink alcohol after taking Januvia FC tab 50mg?

Januvia 50mg Tablet is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitor which will prolong active incretin levels. Incretin helps to regulate glucose homeostasis by increasing insulin synthesis and decreasing glucagon secretion. This will reduce the HbA1c level and helps achieve blood glucose control.
