Famotidine is commonly used in the treatment of benign gastric and duodenal ulcer, gerd and zollinger-ellison syndrome.
Famotidine competitively inhibits histamine at H2-receptors of the gastric parietal cells thereby inhibiting gastric acid secretion.

Famotidine is excreted into breast milk in small amounts. However, there are inadequate data on its effect in the feeding baby probably safe to use during lactation. Please consult your doctor before using it.
