Hiruscar Silicone Pro Gel

Hiruscar Silicone Pro Gel is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical silicone-based scar gel. Its formulation combines a medical-grade silicone base (cyclomethicone and dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer) with stabilised Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and mucopolysaccharides (MPS), forming a thin, breathable film once applied and dried on the skin.

The gel is supplied in a 10g tube and is designed for external application to the surface of a scar, where it dries within a couple of minutes to a flexible, transparent layer that can be covered with makeup or sunscreen once fully dry. It is part of the wider Hiruscar range of topical scar-care products sold in Malaysia and Singapore.

As an OTC product, Hiruscar Silicone Pro Gel can be purchased without a doctor’s prescription through pharmacies and online retailers such as Watsons, Guardian, and DoctorOnCall in Malaysia and Singapore.

• Clean and gently pat dry the affected area before application.
• Apply a pea-sized amount (approximately 6mm in diameter for an 8cm scar) at the tip of the scar.
• Gently spread the gel thinly over the whole affected area in one direction; there is no need to rub it in.
• Allow the gel to dry for about 1–2 minutes before dressing or covering the area.
• Once dry, makeup or sunscreen may be applied over the treated area if needed.
• Use on intact skin only — do not apply to open wounds or broken skin.

Not applicable in the conventional sense — this is a topical gel rather than an orally or systemically dosed medicine. Apply as described in Directions for Use, generally twice daily (morning and evening), or as directed by a pharmacist.

Use before the expiry date printed on the tube and outer packaging. Once opened, use within the period stated on the pack, and discard if the gel changes in colour, consistency, or odour.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly capped after each use, and keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Common: Mild, temporary redness or itching at the application site.
• Common: A tight or filmy sensation on the skin as the gel dries.
• Serious: Allergic contact dermatitis with pronounced redness, swelling, blistering, or persistent itching — discontinue use and seek medical advice if this occurs.

• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to silicone-based ingredients or any other listed ingredient.
• Open wounds, broken or actively bleeding skin.
• Areas with active skin infection, until the infection has been assessed and treated.

• Not applicable — this is a topical scar gel with no established systemic drug interactions.
• Avoid applying other topical products to the same area at the same time unless advised by a pharmacist, as this may affect how well the gel adheres and dries.
• No food interactions apply, as this product is for external skin use only.

• Apply to a fully closed, healed wound only — never to an open cut or stitch line.
• Let the gel dry completely before dressing the area or putting on clothing over it.
• Wash your hands before and after application to keep the treated area clean.
• Apply consistently at the same times each day to build a routine.
• Keep the tube cap tightly closed between uses to prevent the gel from drying out.
• Do a small patch test first if you have sensitive skin or a history of skin allergies.

Precautions: For external use only — avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes, and rinse thoroughly with water if accidental contact occurs. Do not apply to open wounds, broken skin, or areas of active infection. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have particularly sensitive or allergy-prone skin, do a small patch test or check with a pharmacist before regular use.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: If you notice worsening redness, swelling, blistering, oozing, or persistent itching at the application site, or if a scar changes in size, colour, or texture unexpectedly, stop using this product and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
