Skintific-2% Salicylic Acid Anti Acne Serum

Skintific 2% Salicylic Acid Anti Acne Serum is a lightweight facial serum from Skintific that contains 2% salicylic acid, as stated in the product name. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that is oil-soluble, which is why it is commonly used in products for oily and blemish-prone skin. The serum is formulated for skin that tends to feel oily, congested or prone to blemishes.

BHA works on the skin’s surface and within pores to gently exfoliate, helping the skin feel smoother and clearer-looking. In Malaysia’s hot and humid climate, excess oil and sweat can make the skin feel congested, so many people with oily skin include a BHA product in their routine. A serum format allows a thin, targeted layer to be applied before moisturiser.

Because salicylic acid is an exfoliating ingredient, it is best introduced slowly to see how your skin responds, and daily sunscreen is recommended. • Cleanse your face and pat completely dry.
• Apply a few drops of serum to the face, focusing on oily or blemish-prone areas.
• Spread gently, avoiding the eyes, lips and corners of the nose.
• Allow to absorb, then follow with moisturiser.
• In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

• Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and heat, such as a hot car.
• Close the cap tightly after each use.
• Keep out of reach of children.

• This serum is generally well tolerated when introduced gradually and used as directed.
• Mild tingling or stinging may be felt after application.
• Dryness, flaking or tightness may occur, especially when starting out.
• Redness or irritation may occur on sensitive skin.
• The skin may be more sensitive to the sun.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if irritation persists.

• Do not use if you are allergic to salicylic acid, aspirin or other salicylates, or any other ingredient.

• Avoid using at the same time as other exfoliating acids, retinoids or benzoyl peroxide unless advised, as this may increase irritation.

• Patch test on a small area for 24 hours before first use.
• Start with alternate evenings and build up gradually.
• Apply to fully dry skin to reduce stinging.
• Always follow with a moisturiser.
