Bio-Oil Skincare Oil is a cosmetic, oil-based skincare product combining Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, Chamomile Oil, and the manufacturer’s signature PurCellin Oil™ in an oil base. It is classified as a cosmetic product rather than a registered drug, and is sold in Malaysia as an OTC personal care item through DoctorOnCall.

Bio-Oil is one of the most widely recognised oil-based skincare products sold internationally, and the Malaysian market version follows the same globally published formulation. It is designed as a lightweight oil that can be applied to the face and body as part of a regular skincare routine.

• Shake the bottle gently before use to mix the oil blend.
• Apply a small amount of Bio-Oil Skincare Oil to clean, dry skin on the face or body.
• Massage gently in a circular motion until the oil is absorbed.
• Use twice daily, in the morning and evening, or as preferred as part of your skincare routine.
• Avoid direct contact with the eyes; rinse with water if accidental contact occurs.
• If using on the face, allow the oil to absorb before applying makeup or sunscreen.

Bio-Oil Skincare Oil is a topical cosmetic product rather than a medicine, so it does not have a systemic or oral dose. A small amount — enough to lightly coat the area of skin being treated — is generally sufficient for each application, as excess product will not absorb further and may feel greasy.

Use Bio-Oil Skincare Oil before the expiry date printed on the bottle or outer carton. Once opened, use within the period indicated by the PAO (period-after-opening) symbol on the packaging, if shown; otherwise, use within the general timeframe recommended for cosmetic oils by the manufacturer.

Store Bio-Oil Skincare Oil at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, with the cap tightly closed after each use. Keep the bottle out of reach of young children.

• Common: a temporary greasy or oily feel on the skin immediately after application, which generally settles once the oil is absorbed.
• Uncommon: mild skin irritation, redness, or itching, particularly in individuals with sensitive skin or a sensitivity to one of the botanical oils.
• Uncommon: clogged pores or breakouts in individuals with oily or acne-prone skin, as oil-based products can be comedogenic for some skin types.
• Rare: allergic contact reaction in individuals allergic to calendula, chamomile, lavender, or rosemary.

• Known allergy to calendula, chamomile, lavender, rosemary, or any other listed ingredient. Calendula and chamomile belong to the daisy (Asteraceae) plant family, so individuals with a known ragweed, daisy, or chrysanthemum allergy should be especially cautious.
• Broken, infected, or actively weeping skin, unless a doctor or pharmacist has advised use on such areas.
• Avoid contact with the eyes and other mucous membranes.

• No clinically significant drug or food interactions are established for this topical cosmetic oil, as it is applied externally rather than taken internally.
• Using it together with other heavy oil-based or occlusive skincare products on the same area may increase the overall oiliness and risk of clogged pores for some skin types.

• Apply to clean, slightly damp or dry skin for easier spreading.
• Massage in gently rather than rubbing vigorously, to allow the oil to absorb.
• Carry out a patch test on a small area of skin before first use if you have sensitive skin or known plant allergies.
• Store the bottle upright with the cap fully closed to avoid leaks.
• Allow the oil to absorb fully before applying other products, such as makeup or sunscreen, on top.
• Keep the bottle away from direct sunlight to help preserve the oil blend.

Precautions: Individuals with known allergies to ragweed, daisies, chrysanthemums, or related plants should be cautious when using this product, as it contains calendula and chamomile, which belong to the same plant family. Those with very oily or acne-prone skin may wish to use a smaller amount or apply less frequently, as oil-based products can feel heavier on this skin type.
