Montelair 10mg Tablet

Montelair 10mg Tablet contains montelukast 10mg, a leukotriene receptor antagonist used in adults and adolescents aged 15 years and above for the long-term prevention and control of asthma symptoms, including exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It works by blocking leukotrienes, naturally occurring chemical messengers in the body that trigger airway inflammation, excess mucus production and narrowing of the airways.

As montelukast is a prescription-only medicine in Malaysia, Montelair 10mg Tablet is supplied by DoctorOnCall only after an online consultation with a registered doctor, who reviews the patient’s asthma control, allergy history and current medications before issuing a prescription. It is a maintenance/preventer therapy and is not intended to relieve a sudden asthma attack.

Store below 30°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original blister pack until ready to use, and keep the medicine out of the reach and sight of children.

• Known hypersensitivity to montelukast or any ingredient in the tablet
• Not to be used as a rescue treatment for an acute asthma attack or status asthmaticus
• Caution required in patients with known aspirin-sensitive asthma, who should continue to avoid aspirin/NSAIDs while on montelukast
• Caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment

• Phenobarbital and rifampicin may reduce blood levels of montelukast and its effectiveness
• No significant food interactions are known; the tablet may be taken with or without food
• Inform your doctor of all other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking
• Do not stop any inhaled corticosteroid or other asthma medicine without your doctor’s advice when starting montelukast

• Take Montelair 10mg Tablet at the same time each day, preferably in the evening
• Continue treatment even when you feel well, as it works as a preventer
• Always keep a fast-acting reliever inhaler on hand for sudden breathing difficulty
• Report any new mood, behaviour, or sleep changes to your doctor promptly
• Do not share this prescription medicine with anyone else
• Attend follow-up reviews with your doctor to monitor asthma or allergy control
