Overview

Sebamed Anti-stretch Mark Cream contains materials and components and is presented as a cream. It is supplied in a pack size of 200ml.

It is classified as an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine, so no prescription is needed to order it. Under Malaysian rules for medicine information, this page carries product, safety and handling information only.

You can consult a doctor or pharmacist online on DoctorOnCall about this product before or after you order. Every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is delivered. Always read the label and the leaflet supplied with the pack.

Directions for Use

Apply a generous amount of the cream onto clean, dry skin, focusing on areas prone to stretch marks such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, breasts, and buttocks. Massage gently in circular motions until the cream is fully absorbed. For use during pregnancy, many users begin applying the cream from the early second trimester and continue daily use throughout pregnancy and into the postpartum period, once or twice daily, ideally after a shower. Avoid applying to broken, infected, or irritated skin, and discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

Dosage

Not applicable – Sebamed Anti-stretch Mark Cream is for external, topical use only and is not taken orally or dosed like a medicine. It is generally applied once or twice daily (morning and/or evening), as described under Directions for Use.

Shelf Life

Unopened, Sebamed Anti-stretch Mark Cream is generally stable for the shelf life stated on the carton, typically around 30 months from manufacture; always check and use before the expiry date printed on the packaging. Once opened, it is best used within around 12 months, in line with the period-after-opening (PAO) symbol on the tube.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the tube tightly capped after use to prevent contamination, and keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: Mild, temporary redness or a tingling sensation on first application, which usually settles as the skin adjusts.
  • Common: Skin sensitivity or a mild breakout in individuals allergic to a specific plant-derived ingredient, such as sweet almond oil or avocado oil.
  • Serious: Allergic contact dermatitis with persistent itching, swelling, blistering, or rash, which needs prompt medical or pharmacist review if it occurs.

Contraindications

  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the cream, including avocado oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, Centella asiatica extract, or elastin.
  • Individuals with a known tree-nut or nut-oil allergy should check the ingredient list carefully before use, as sweet almond oil is derived from a tree nut.
  • Not intended for use on broken, infected, or actively inflamed skin.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug or food interactions are known for Sebamed Anti-stretch Mark Cream, as it is a topical cosmetic product applied externally and is not absorbed systemically in meaningful amounts.
  • There is no known interaction with oral medicines, supplements, or food when the cream is used as directed on intact skin.

Quick Tips

  • Start using the cream as early as possible in pregnancy, ideally from the first or second trimester, and continue consistently.
  • Apply consistently once or twice daily rather than occasionally – regular use matters more than the amount used at any one time.
  • Massage the cream in for a minute or two until fully absorbed.
  • Do a small patch test on the inner arm before first use if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies.
  • Keep your skin well hydrated overall by drinking enough water, as part of your general skincare routine.
  • Store the tube at room temperature, away from bathroom humidity and direct sunlight, to help preserve the formula.

Relevant Information

Precautions: Sebamed Anti-stretch Mark Cream is generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used as a topical cosmetic on intact skin, but individuals with known allergies to any listed ingredient, or with very sensitive or eczema-prone skin, should patch-test first and discontinue if irritation develops. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes, and do not apply to broken, infected, or actively inflamed skin.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak to a doctor or pharmacist if you develop a persistent skin reaction, rash, or swelling after use, if stretch marks appear to be worsening rapidly or are accompanied by other skin changes, or if you are unsure whether this cosmetic product is appropriate for your skin during pregnancy.
