Overview

Sebamed Baby Diaper Cream is a nappy-area cream from the Baby Sebamed range, made to care for the delicate skin under a baby’s diaper. According to the manufacturer, the formula contains panthenol and wheat bran extract with soothing oils, and is formulated at pH 5.5. It is designed to be applied after each diaper change as part of a routine nappy care.

The skin in the diaper area is in regular contact with moisture, urine and stools, and rubbing from the nappy itself. Sebamed states that this cream provides protection for the diaper area and helps the skin there feel soothed. Its protective texture forms a layer on the skin, helping to keep the area comfortable between changes.

In Malaysia’s warm and humid climate, the diaper area can easily become hot and damp, so frequent changes and good nappy hygiene are important. Sebamed Baby Diaper Cream fits into this routine after cleaning and drying the skin at every change. If your baby’s skin in the diaper area becomes very red, broken, blistered or does not improve within a few days, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Directions for Use

  • Remove the soiled diaper and clean the area gently with water or a mild cleanser.
  • Pat the skin completely dry, or allow it to air-dry for a short while.
  • Wash your hands, then apply a thin layer of Sebamed Baby Diaper Cream to the diaper area.
  • Massage in gently and put on a clean diaper.
  • Repeat at each diaper change.

Shelf Life

Refer to the expiry date printed on the packaging. As a cosmetic product, it may also carry a period-after-opening symbol (an open jar icon with a number followed by “M”), which shows how many months the product can be used once opened. Do not use after the expiry date or if the texture, colour or smell has changed.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat, such as inside a parked car.
  • Close the cap tightly after use to keep the product clean.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Sebamed Baby Diaper Cream is generally well tolerated by delicate baby skin.
  • Mild redness or irritation may occur in babies sensitive to an ingredient, such as fragrance or wheat-derived ingredients.
  • A rash may appear in rare cases of allergy to an ingredient.
  • Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction persists or the diaper area worsens.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if your baby is allergic to any ingredient listed on the packaging, including wheat-derived ingredients or beeswax.
  • Do not apply to deeply broken, bleeding or blistered skin.
  • Seek medical advice if redness spreads, the skin develops spots or pus, or your baby has a fever.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes and do not apply inside the body.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No known food interactions.
  • Avoid using other nappy creams or powders on the same area at the same time unless advised.
  • If your baby has been prescribed a cream for the diaper area, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether and when to use this cream.

Quick Tips

  • Change wet or soiled diapers promptly, especially in hot weather.
  • Let the diaper area air out for a few minutes during changes when possible.
  • Make sure the skin is completely dry before applying the cream.
  • Choose the correct diaper size so it is not too tight.
  • Use gentle, unscented wipes or plain water for cleaning.

Relevant Information

For external use only. Before first use, try a small amount on a small area of skin to check for any reaction.

Keep out of reach of children. A diaper cream supports good nappy hygiene, but persistent or severe redness in the diaper area should be checked by a doctor or pharmacist.
