Strepsils Max Pro 8.75mg Lozenges

Strepsils Max Pro 8.75mg Lozenges contain flurbiprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), specially formulated to provide fast, effective relief from severe sore throat pain. Each lozenge is designed to be dissolved slowly in the mouth, allowing the medicated ingredient to act directly at the site of throat irritation and inflammation.

Unlike standard antiseptic throat lozenges, Strepsils Max Pro targets the underlying inflammation that causes sore throat pain, making it a popular choice for adults experiencing intense throat discomfort, such as that associated with colds, flu, or tonsillitis-related irritation. It is available without a prescription in Malaysia and is intended for short-term symptomatic relief.

Flurbiprofen works by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, which reduces the local production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation in the throat lining. As the lozenge dissolves slowly, flurbiprofen is released directly onto the inflamed throat tissue, providing localized anti-inflammatory and analgesic action that can begin working within minutes.

Allow one lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth without chewing or swallowing whole, taking one lozenge every 3 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 5 lozenges in 24 hours, and avoid using for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist.

Adults and children aged 12 years and above may take one 8.75mg lozenge every 3 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 5 lozenges in a 24-hour period. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Strepsils Max Pro Lozenges generally have a shelf life of around 36 months from the date of manufacture when stored unopened under recommended conditions; always check the expiry date printed on the pack before use.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and keep the blister pack sealed until ready to use. Keep out of reach of children.

Strepsils Max Pro Lozenges are intended for short-term relief of severe sore throat pain in adults and are best used alongside adequate rest and hydration. Persistent sore throat lasting more than a few days, or sore throat accompanied by fever, rash, or difficulty swallowing, should be evaluated by a doctor to rule out bacterial infection or other underlying causes.
