Dermacyn Wound Care Solution

Dermacyn Wound Care Solution contains is Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), produced through Microcyn® Technology and is presented as a solution. It is supplied in a pack size of 500ml.

Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the bottle or the affected area. Remove the cap and either pour or spray the solution directly onto the wound or affected area, or soak a sterile gauze pad with the solution and apply it to the area. There is no need to rinse the solution off afterwards.

Allow the area to air-dry, or cover it with a clean secondary dressing if one is normally used for that wound. Repeat application 2 to 3 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional, using a fresh sterile gauze pad for each application to avoid transferring contamination back into the bottle. Close the cap tightly immediately after each use.

Not applicable in the conventional sense — Dermacyn Wound Care Solution is a topical solution for external application to the skin or a wound surface as directed on the product packaging or by a healthcare professional. It is not intended for oral ingestion, injection, or any internal/systemic use, so it does not have an oral or systemic dose.

Use Dermacyn Wound Care Solution before the expiry date printed on the bottle or outer carton. An independently verified universal in-use (after-opening) shelf life is not published in Malaysian retail product information, so once the bottle has been opened, follow any in-use period stated on the product label or manufacturer insert, and discard the solution if it looks discoloured or cloudy, or has an unusual odour, even before the printed expiry date.

Store the bottle at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Keep the cap tightly closed between uses to reduce the risk of contamination and to help keep the solution stable. Store out of reach of children, and do not freeze the product.

• Common: A mild, brief stinging, tingling, or warm sensation at the point of application.
• Common: Temporary mild redness of the surrounding skin.
• Serious: Signs of an allergic skin reaction, such as spreading rash, swelling, blistering, or increasing pain, which require prompt medical attention.

Precautions: Dermacyn Wound Care Solution is intended for topical use on minor, superficial skin conditions. Deep puncture wounds, heavily contaminated or actively infected wounds, animal or human bites, and burns beyond minor/superficial severity generally need professional wound assessment rather than self-care alone. Use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants, and young children should follow a healthcare professional’s guidance. Avoid contact with the eyes unless the product is specifically labelled for ophthalmic use.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Seek professional advice if a wound shows signs of spreading infection, such as increasing redness, swelling, warmth, or pus, or if it is accompanied by fever; if the wound has not shown expected progress after several days of self-care; if pain increases rather than settles; or if any signs of an allergic reaction to the solution occur.
