Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Saltoline Syrup. Taking Saltoline Syrup with alcohol may worsen the side effects such as headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or palpitations.

Pregnancy Warning (C)
Saltoline Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse reactions on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable even with the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Saltoline Syrup excretes in breast milk but it is not known to show any harmful effect on breastfed babies. However, its usage should be restricted unless the benefits outweigh the risks.

Driving Warning (Safe)
Saltoline Syrup usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Saltoline Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease as it may cause hypokalaemia. Dose adjustment of Saltoline Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Limited information)
Saltoline Syrup should be safe to use in patients with liver disease. It is rare for most of the antiasthmatic agents to cause hepatotoxicity. No dose adjustment of Saltoline Syrup may be needed.

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Mechanism of Action
Saltoline Syrup activates the enzyme that stimulates the production of cAMP. It leads to the activation of protein kinase A, which lowers intracellular ionic Ca concentration and inhibits phosphorylation of myosin. This relaxes the smooth muscle in the airways which relief breathlessness.
