Sandoz Sildegra 100mg Tablet

Sandoz Sildegra 100mg Tablet contains sildenafil citrate, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.

Sildenafil works by blocking the PDE5 enzyme, which allows a molecule called cyclic GMP to build up in the smooth muscle of the penis. This relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow, helping achieve and maintain an erection in response to sexual stimulation.

Sildenafil inhibits the PDE5 enzyme, which normally breaks down cyclic GMP. With less breakdown, cyclic GMP levels rise, causing smooth muscle in blood vessel walls to relax; this increases blood flow to erectile tissue when combined with sexual stimulation.

Take the tablet with a glass of water, roughly one hour before anticipated sexual activity; a high-fat meal taken shortly beforehand may delay the onset of action. Sexual stimulation is still needed for the medicine to work.

The usual dose is taken as needed, about one hour before anticipated sexual activity, but the exact dose (which may be lower than 100mg depending on tolerability) is individualised by the treating doctor.

• Known hypersensitivity to sildenafil or any ingredient in the tablet
• Use of any nitrate medicine (such as glyceryl trinitrate for chest pain), as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure
• Recent stroke, heart attack, or unstable heart disease, unless specifically cleared by a doctor
• Severe liver impairment

• Nitrates must never be combined with sildenafil due to a serious risk of dangerously low blood pressure.
• Alpha-blockers used for blood pressure or prostate symptoms can also cause a significant blood pressure drop when combined with sildenafil.
• Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors can raise sildenafil levels and may require dose adjustment.
• A high-fat meal can delay how quickly this medicine starts working.

• Never combine this medicine with nitrate medicines – seek emergency care if you have taken both and feel dizzy or unwell.
• Seek immediate medical attention for an erection lasting longer than 4 hours, as this can cause permanent damage if untreated.
• Tell your doctor about any heart conditions before starting this medicine.
• Avoid a heavy, high-fat meal shortly before taking this medicine, as it can delay how quickly it works.
